The Cottage, Ohakune

The 'Cottage' in Ohakune is located right near the heart of the Junction, in a quiet cul-de-sac, opposite a scenic park.

The cottage can accommodate ten people. There's two double bedrooms downstairs, one with ensuite, and two upstairs bedrooms that sleep 5-6. There is also a separate bathroom downstairs. The cottage can be booked out by one club member/family at a time and members are free to invite non-members. Kitchen, dining and living is open plan, heated by an efficient wood burner. There's also a drying room and laundry, with parking at the door.

Responsibilities

Members are responsible for cleaning the cottage at the end of each stay, removing all rubbish and leaving everything in a clean and tidy condition for the next guests.  There is a Transfer station on Old Station Road which is open every day during winter from 10:00am - 5:00pm. During summer it's closed Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Changeover time is between 5:00pm and 6:00pm. On arrival, please respect members who may be departing by not taking your gear into the cottage prior to 5:00pm.

Catering

Members self-cater for both weekend and weekday bookings throughout the year.  There are stocks of salt, pepper, cleaning materials, toilet paper and firewood for members' use. Please supply your own tea towels.  Please report any deficiencies or damage immediately to the Booking Officer

What to bring

When staying at the Cottage, please bring with you:

  • Sleeping bag or linen (duvets & blankets are supplied)

  • Pillowcase (pillows are supplied)

  • Towels

  • Tea towels

  • Food 

There is a digital lock fitted to the front door. The code for this will be given to members by the Booking Officer prior to their stay.
